1920s Japanese Okimono Rooster and Hen
Details
Truly works of art! This intricately detailed decorative set is made of metal (brass) and the details were hand-painted. This set is RARE and a sought-after and decorative collectible from the Japanese Taishō period.
NOTE: Unfortunately, the rooster has some damage. I don't know how, but there is a large hole in the back side like it was melted. The rooster was also broken in two and is glued on the underside at the back. You cannot see ANY of these flaws when the rooster is facing forward, but obviously this affects the value of the pair. In perfect condition these can resell for close to $1,000 so I am heavily reducing the price even compared to comps with damage.
The hen is in pristine antique condition with only some minor fading on the red accents
The rooster is marked at the bottom: "JAPAN"
