Lot of 4 vintage ice coupon books issued by Decatur Ice & Coal Co. of Decatur, Alabama. These original pieces date from the 1940s era and were used by customers to pre-purchase ice. The books include denominations for 500 lbs, 1000 lbs, and 2000 lbs, as well as a $1 book with 5¢ coupons. Each book is unused, retaining its coupons intact. They feature bold period typography and graphics reflecting the industrial and domestic era when home ice delivery was essential. A good example of southern advertising history, these pieces would make a great addition to any vintage advertising, Alabama, or industrial ephemera collection.
