Antique Porcelain Blue White Tea Caddy/Bottle Metal Cap Unsigned

$50.00

Details

Beautiful piece of historically important porcelain. Tea bottles were used within large wooden boxes called caddies to import tea leaves to the European market starting in the 17th century. This piece has been variously identified online as being Royal Copenhagen, Meissen or Delft, but it is unmarked, and origin is not precise. The delicate hand painting is in blue on white bisque glazed porcelain, and the stopper cap is tin, or a base metal. Measures 5.75” high, 3.25” wide and 2” deep, with no cracks and light signs of wear and crazing only. Ships from a smoke free pet free home.
