About The Record:

Christmas Chorus released by Columbia Special Products, is a festive compilation featuring a variety of choral performances of classic Christmas carols, designed to capture the holiday spirit through rich, harmonious arrangements. Produced under the label’s specialty division, it was part of a series of holiday albums often distributed as promotional items, notably through partnerships with companies like Goodyear for seasonal marketing. The album includes traditional songs such as Silent Night and Joy to the World, performed by a chorus with orchestral accompaniment, emphasizing a warm, nostalgic sound. While no specific hit singles are documented from this album, its release aligns with the era’s trend of choral holiday records, which were culturally significant for their role in spreading festive cheer during the late 1960s. Historically, Christmas Chorus reflects Columbia’s strategy of leveraging seasonal music to engage audiences, contributing to the label’s legacy of diverse, accessible holiday offerings.
