Details
Vinyl plays nicely; a few light hairlines (play-graded). Matte Gate-fold cover has light-scuffing (front/back/inner-gate); discoloration spots in the inner-gate. Inner-sleeve is original (generic white). Spine is mostly easy-to-read with wear. Minor shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners. Small split from top right corner Opening shows signs of use and a split at top. Red label with Columbia around the edge, no barcode. (Not a cut-out.)
Home Free is the debut album by American singer/songwriter Dan Fogelberg. Home Free has been certified Platinum by the RIAA for certified sales of 1,000,000 copies, but as a re-issue, not during the original release, which had lukewarm success. Some things about Home Free show that Fogelberg had figured out his strengths well before he went near the studio. The songs here are better and more coherent than much of his later work, with a directness that makes it easy to gloss over the occasional banalities and platitudes. As always, his splendid delivery makes it easy to excuse the lyrical flaws; nobody else ever sounded this confessional and meditative while singing in front of a full orchestra. (allmusic.com). Fogelberg designed and executed the cover as a self-portrait.
