About The Record:

Spooky Halloween, by Golden Record, is a delightful collection of children's songs designed to capture the fun and whimsical spirit of Halloween, featuring playful tracks about ghosts, witches, and spooky adventures performed by artists like Kay Lande and Wade Denning. Originally drawing from vintage Golden Records releases, such as the 1969 LP Halloween by Kay Lande and Wade Denning, as well as the 1974 album Spooky Halloween by The Wonderland Singers, this compilation revives classic kid-friendly tunes that emphasize lighthearted scares over genuine frights. Historically significant as part of the Little Golden Records legacy—a mid-20th-century imprint under Simon & Schuster known for affordable, educational children's media that introduced generations to music through colorful storybooks and 78 RPM records—this album pays homage to an era when such releases were staples in American households for holiday celebrations. Released on CD in 2012 by VMG Golden Records, LLC, following a successful initial run, it continues the tradition of nostalgic, family-oriented Halloween entertainment that avoids overplayed adult classics in favor of original, age-appropriate originals. Among its standout tracks, it has an enduring popularity in children's Halloween playlists.
