Great Neck Corsair #4 Sized Bench Plane. CRACKED MOUTH Great Neck used to make good tools and have been around since the 1920's or earlier. This one has plastic tote and knob, so it is more modern, maybe from the late 70's to the 80's, I am just guessing.
I think the quality of hand woodworking tools went down in the 70-80's, so I am not sure how well of a user this will be, but it may can be tuned up just fine. But I think it would be better suited for a Scrub Plane I noticed when taking photos that the mouth is cracked, so best used as a scrub plane or parts.
This comes from a collection of planes and other woodworking tools I bought. I was buying, restoring and reselling hand woodworking tools
I also use and sorta collect woodworking hand tools, but my health has been getting worse and I figure that I need to thin down my tools to just what I actually use. That way it's easier on my wife when I am gone, she does not have so much stuff to deal with.

Selling since November 2024
Retired Archaeologist now working for city of Lexington Engineering Dept. Have been a carpenter and woodworking for some time, just switched over to hand tools several years ago. But now my health has changed, I have no kids and if Gods will, will be retiring and moving to Philippines in the next 5 Years. So I am slowly selling off tools (and other things) that I know I will not be hauling across the world. When the time comes, I may sell off more, but for now all my extras or things I bought to resale need to go....Heck I may just sell it all and not touch a tool again depending on my health in 5 years....
