Details
Vinyl plays with occasional light-crackles (play-graded). Cover has a few creases near edges; light-scuffing (front/back); discoloration and darker discoloration spots on back alongside a address label. Inner-sleeve is original (RCA Ads); one seam partial split. Spine is easy-to-read with mild-wear. Minor shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners; top edge has text that is partly readable due to fading. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)
The Music From Peter Gunn, by Henry Mancini, released in 1959, is the iconic soundtrack for the television series Peter Gunn, blending jazz, swing, and orchestral elements to create a sophisticated, noir-inspired sound. The album is historically significant for its innovative use of jazz in television scoring, setting a new standard for TV soundtracks and earning Mancini widespread acclaim. It won the inaugural Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 1959 and a Grammy for Best Arrangement. The hit single Peter Gunn Theme became a cultural touchstone, reaching the Billboard charts and later covered by numerous artists. The album’s influence endures in its evocation of 1950s cool jazz and its impact on film and TV music composition.
