Josnel Bruno Haitian Folk Art Brutalist Hand Hammered Upcycled Steel Drum Bowl Candleholder Vintage Metalwork.

Artist: Josnel Bruno was an apprentice to master Serge Jolimeau and is now a metalworker in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti, who transforms discarded oil drums into remarkable artwork with his skill and creativity. He describes himself as a “difficult child” who only found purpose once he was taught metalworking. His hammered, chiseled, punched, and incised bowls and platters represent yet another innovation within the tradition that now defines Josnel’s community to the world. Each piece is a way for him to pay tribute to his rich culture and religious beliefs. He is proud to be teaching the art to young apprentices, continuing the tradition.

This Signed Josnel Bruno Handmade, Hammered, Chiseled, Punched and Incised Bowl is handmade from recycled 55 gallon steel drums. This piece of art can also be used as a candle holder.

This piece is vintage and has great patina from age. See photos for details and condition. Thanks for looking!

Hello! One of my fondest childhood memories was going to the flea market on Sundays with my parents! We were always on the lookout for pieces that went with a red dish set that they had. It was exciting to find some"in the wild"as they say! Today, I still enjoy finding treasures and giving them a second chance to bring someone joy! Thank you for helping me do that!! Deb M
