Details
Vinyl plays nicely; a few light hairlines (play-graded). Cover has scuffing and creasing; surface impressions, discoloration (front/back). Inner sleeve is generic white. Spine is readable with mild wear. Little shelf-wear along top-edge, heavier across bottom-edge; wear to corners. Bottom edge slightly split near right corner. Opening is crisp with signs of light use. 1984 pressing. (Not a cut-out.)
A Christmas Offering is a collection of holiday songs by Leontyne Price. The liner notes state: "This record and how it came into existence must be well nigh unique in the history of what is popularly called 'the music business.' It is rare indeed that such a celebrated singer and internationally powerful conductor should evidence such boundless admiration for each other's art. To listen to Von Karajan talk about Price, or Price discuss von Karajan is to witness the glow of a deeply felt professional respect and artistic communication. It was Heerbert von Karajan who suggested that the recording be made and the idea was enthusiastically welcomed by Miss Price and the A&R directors of London Records. This record then, so appropriate for the time of year when brotherhood and goodwill are uppermost in our minds, is truly the result of a labor of love."
