Millers Falls No. 2D hand drill

This is one of my favorite hand drills featuring a cocobolo handle with contrasting light sapwood and dark heartwood color. The No. 2D drill has a friction roller, that serves to maintain proper alignment between the main gear and the single pinion gear along their pitch lines, reducing backlash and enabling precise, smooth rotation under load. This is the only example I have in my collection with a friction roller. Drill is in good overall condition and spins freely, but could use a good cleaning and some oil. No issues with the chuck. Many bits stowed in the handle as shown in the photos.
