Modern Dayfarer V2 Backpack (black) + Tech Pouch (orange X-Pac)
Both are very lightly used, bought in December 2024 and discontinued use in March 2025.
Great bag, but the backpack just ended up being much more than I now need for my EDC, even including gym stuff, as a very petite woman. It was super handy when I had two jobs and needed to carry two laptops and supplies to get me through very long days, but I've downsized my bag since scaling back to one job.
The tech pouch is awesome too and wish I had a use for it anymore but it's also more than I need so why not bundle it and give it a home where it will be used rather than sit on a shelf and hope I might need it. The end days of my last job while simultaneously starting a new job involved bouncing from building to building to building to work from home all with different setups so I needed just about every cable and adapter known to man to survive. This thing held everything I needed in a super organized manner, but I don't have that problem anymore so haven't been using it.
Technical Specifications of the V2 Backpack:
• Material: 840D ballistic nylon with water repellence, Ripstop Poly lining. • Hardware: Fidlock® buckle, YKK® AquaGuard® zip, Hypalon zipper pulls. Dimensions: 18.9" x 12.6" x 7" (48 cm x 32 cm x 18 cm)
Weight: 2.4 lbs (1080 g)
Volume: 24 L
Favorite Features Include:
• laptop compartment is very well padded, elevated with a false bottom for drop protection, and roomy enough for certain days where I needed to carry not one but two laptops!
• AquaGuard YKK zippers keeping my laptop(s) safe in the rain
• there is an easy access but very discreet side pocket with soft mesh inside pockets for things like chapstick and a key leash for quick access
• against your back is an even more hidden pocket for secure storage of small flat items like money or a passport
• another larger but still discreet pocket on that same side for slightly larger items. many people put the tech pouch in there, fits great. I had been using it for glasses, tissues, protein bars, etc.
• the top closes with a satisfying magnetic buckle from Fidlock
• two vertical zippers open the bag all the way from the front down for easy access to items at the bottom of the bag or items stored in the two convenient zipper pockets on the inside of the front flap (shown)
• shoe compartment! very clever and practical feature, includes air holes for ventilation (shown) expandable - when I did need to haul more stuff than usual, the adjustable strap lets the top expand to accommodate a lot more
• when not fully packed out, the top is more compact and there is an elastic dangle-stopper to keep the excess strap nice and contained
• exterior fabric looks great and cleans easily, scuffed it once against a stucco wall and it wiped right off
• back padding and shoulder straps are very comfortable and ventilated
• there is an optional chest strap that was out of stock and is expected to be back in stock end of April along with more bags
For more details and a look at all of the compartments, check out Modern Dayfarer's website or of course Nomad's Nation has a great review on Youtube.
The bag typically goes for $200, currently on preorder for $190 available around the end of month restock. Tech pouch currently $44. Considering how barely used they are, this should be a pretty good deal for my fellow bag heads.
