Murano Green and Amber Vase. 8" x 6"

Green and Amber Vase. 8" x 6" . Beautiful Handmade Art Glass Vase. Lovely Amber and Green Glass with Black accents. Smooth finished base. Appears to be Murano but in my opinion it is possibly Canadian glass by the artist Ian Forbes, who studied under a murano master glass blower (piece was found in a collection that included an Ian Forbes piece, that I have listed, with very similar decoration). No signature on vase. No chips, cracks or bruises. There are a few scratches on one side but they don't show up very well. I have one photo where I managed to show the two largest. Bottom is fairly clean with normal wear from years of moving about on shelves. Most likely around 40 years old. Please see photos as they are part of the description. Ian Forbes Graduated with honours from Sheridan College, School of Crafts & Design in 1984. He continued his studies in glass at Alfred University,Alfred, New York. where he was enrolled in their bachelor of Fine Arts program. Upon leaving Alfred University Ian was accepted as a resident artist at the Harbourfront Glass Studio in Toronto. He worked at the Harbourfront Glass Studio for almost three years and went on to work at Sheridan College in Oakville as the technologist in the glass program. While at Sheridan Ian taught many classes in glass in both the full-time diploma program and the Summer School of the Arts. Ian and his family settled in Picton in 1989 and started working towards setting up shop in the area. In 1993 a partnership was formed and Bloomfield Glassworks opened its doors shortly thereafter. From the beginning Ian has continually strived to perfect his skills as a fine glassblower. He has a deep respect for the tradition of vessel making and has been inspired by the Venetian Masters of the past and present. To enhance his glassblowing skills Ian has attended numerous professional workshops, including those with master Lino Tagliapietra and attended the Pilchuk Glass School in Stanwood, Washington.He has won numerous awards for his work and is included in both private and public collections.
