Up for sale is a super nice 10 piece Knife set made by the Opinel Co. of Savoie, France. They are a folding knife set and come in a beautiful Beechwood display case. Each knife has a number stamped on it from No.12 down to No. 2 . The Opinel Company started making knives around the 1900's. This company is world famous for it's folding knives, which are often called "The French farmer's knife." They are made of polished Stainless Steel and are razor sharp. They have a ring that slides around and locks the blade once it is extended . This set would make a great gift for a knife collector, woodworker, wood carver, or anybody that like high quality items. With over 76 years of life experience and a passion for woodworking, I’ve spent decades collecting, restoring, and working with antique hand tools, mostly hand planes . I'm an Army Vet. (1967-1969) and married with 2 children. I'm also a avid gardener. I have a degree in Forestry from S.I.U. although I only worked in the industry for 6 weeks. I'm retired from the coal mines and also the Post Office. I live in Southern Illinois near Carbondale. I love to hunt and fish. I live on 30 with a 9 acre strip mine lake in front of the house. My work shop includes a Delta Unisaw , a Grizzley 17" band saw and a DeWalt 735 planer. I have many hand planes including a very nice Stanley #2 type 7
