Up for sale is an outstanding Stanley #4 Type 11 hand plane. This one is a type 11 as it has the 3 patent dates behind the frog and the small adj. nut. It has the T logo iron and good length. I have sharpened it going through the grits up to 8000. I have also re-Japanned the bed using stanley's original factory recipe and baked it on low heat 5 times. There is a very small chip out of the sole on the left side, see pictures, but no crack out from it , just a small bite. I have flattened the sole and cleaned up the sides. The tote and knob have the dark rosewood and have their original patina. The tote has a nicely repaired crack and it is solid.
