PRE Lateral Stanley #5 Type 4 Jack Plane 1874-1884

Pre lateral Stanley #5. I am pretty sure this is a Type 4, Look at the photos and check for yourself as I may be wrong. The Iron is a type Q trademark stamp, used from 1891-1904, so it is off a newer plane.
It's rough and needs to be restored, but I think it will clean up nice and make a good user, or shelf space taker upper. But if you are going to make this a user, remember the depth adjustment is backwards from more modern planes.
I was going to restore this and keep for myself, but I have to many planes now that I do not use, need to just thin down my tools...

Retired Archaeologist now working for city of Lexington Engineering Dept. Have been a carpenter and woodworking for some time, just switched over to hand tools several years ago. But now my health has changed, I have no kids and if Gods will, will be retiring and moving to Philippines in the next 5 Years. So I am slowly selling off tools (and other things) that I know I will not be hauling across the world. When the time comes, I may sell off more, but for now all my extras or things I bought to resale need to go....Heck I may just sell it all and not touch a tool again depending on my health in 5 years....
