Vinyl plays with occasional light-crackles (play-graded). Cover has a few creases near edges; scuffing, (front/back). Inner-sleeve is original (generic white). Spine is partly readable with noticeable wear. Shelf-wear along bottom-edge, heavier across top-edge; wear to corners. Opening shows signs of use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)
Rod Stewart And Steampacket, is a 1965 rehearsal recording at London's Marquee Club, captured by manager Giorgio Gomelsky. It features raw blues and R&B covers like Can I Get a Witness, Up Above My Head, and Baby When You Got What You Want, with a young Rod Stewart sharing lead vocals alongside Long John Baldry and Julie Driscoll, supported by Brian Auger on organ and Micky Waller on drums. Historically significant as one of Stewart’s earliest recordings, it showcases his developing raspy vocal style during Steampacket’s brief run as a white soul revue that toured with the Rolling Stones in 1965, influencing his later soulful sound. The album reflects Steampacket’s role in the British blues scene, connecting acts like the Yardbirds to future stars, despite the group’s inability to release official recordings due to label conflicts. The group never released commercial tracks during its 1965–1966 existence.
