This Southern rock record, recorded at El Adobe Studios in El Paso, Texas, blends blues and rock with Krantz’s powerful vocals, often compared to Janis Joplin, while deliberately carving a distinct sound to avoid being seen as a Skynyrd clone. The album achieved commercial success, peaking in the US Top 20, and is historically significant as a testament to the band’s resilience, symbolized by the phoenix on the cover.
