This is a married pair of Salt & Pepper Shakers, originally each puppy would have been paired with a baby shaker.  There is one shaker with out the original cork stopper.  There IS wear to the paint and some discoloration to the ceramic.  One puppy has a rough cut during manufacturing that was glazed over.  There are some glazing pops.  Otherwise good vintage condition.

Description:
A set of Salt & Pepper shakers made by Vantellingen.  These were designed by children's book illustrator Ruth Van Tellingen Bendel and produced by the Regal China company in the 1940's-50's.  The distinctive feature of this set is the hugging or huggies design, where the two figures are depicted embracing each other, meant to be held and shaken together at the same time.
