Sargent No 217 Block Plane. The Japanned body dates this from 1910-43 The iron dates it from 1919-42 Now this has a Mahogany knob, but I do not know if this is the East India wood or not. East India Mahogany would date this from 1910-24 and not east India is 1925-42
For sure this is 1919-42, just on the iron alone. See photos

Retired Archaeologist now working for city of Lexington Engineering Dept. Have been a carpenter and woodworking for some time, just switched over to hand tools several years ago. But now my health has changed, I have no kids and if Gods will, will be retiring and moving to Philippines in the next 5 Years. So I am slowly selling off tools (and other things) that I know I will not be hauling across the world. When the time comes, I may sell off more, but for now all my extras or things I bought to resale need to go....Heck I may just sell it all and not touch a tool again depending on my health in 5 years....
