Scioto Works (1893-1907) Beech/Boxwood Screw Arm Plow

$75.00

Details

Boxwood knobs and washers, beech body and arms. Sharpened, unmarked, cast steel, #7 iron. Boxed fence. There's what is probably a hardware store logo inked on the right side, but it's illegible.

Scioto Works was a brand name used by the Ohio Tool Co. for planes made from "second grade" timber. They began using the name after their 1893 merger with the Auburn Tool Co. The plane is marked 101, which was Ohio Tools' catalog number for plows with boxwood washers, nuts, and arms. This plane does not have boxwood arms.
