Stanley Bailey No 4 smoothing plane. WWII era type 17. Very clean, sharp and tuned. Bottom flattened. Lever cap is shiny. This plane is ready to make shavings. Tote is beech, knob is hardwood. Varnish on them was shot so I redid them a deep red. The depth adjuster is gutta percha (hard rubber) and is in excellent shape. It does not have the frog adjustment screw - which is common for the war production planes.
See the pictures. Japanning is very good. There is tiny chip on the trailing edge of the mouth but it will have no functional impact. Tote had a mid body break that I repaired. It's solid and with the re-finished you can't even see it.
Happy to answer questions.

Long time hobby woodworker. Most of that has been as a power tool user but in the last several years I've taken up hand tools and love it. Also found that I really like putting old iron back into service.
