Up for sale is a nice Stanley #4 type 7 hand plane. It has the corrugated sole and I have lapped it flat. Good mouth . The Japanning was spotty on the bed so I stripped it off and re-Japanned it using Stanley's original factory recipe and baked it 5 times and it looks great. I have sharpened the iron going through the grits up to 8000. I have also lapped the chip breaker and lever cap to fit tight to the iron. This plane has the S foundry mark on the bed, behind the frog and on the back of the lever cap. It also has the 3 pat. dates on the lateral adj. lever. The tote and knob are made from that dark Brazilian rosewood and have their original patina. The knob is in great shape with no cracks or chips. The top does show some tool box rash. The tote has a nicely repaired crack and is strong and won't fail at the crack. This was the first type to have the corrugated sole. All in all a really nice 130 year old plane. Alaska and Hawaii message me to work out shipping cost.
