Stanley Bailey No 5 jack plane. WWII era type 17. Very clean, sharp and bottom flattened. Great looking and ready to get to work. It came to me badly painted red. Repainted the body because the paint stripper also got the japanning. Hardwood knob and tote typical of the war production era. Redid them a deep red in recovering from the bad paint job. It has the frog adjustment screw. Depth adjuster is gutta percha (hard rubber).
See the pictures. It's in great shaper overall. Lever cap is clean and shiny. I left the original milling marks on the sides. Tote had an old horn repair - reattaching the broken horn - that was well done. With the refinishing you can barely tell it's there. Iron has the Q4 1942 mark.
Happy to answer questions.

Long time hobby woodworker. Most of that has been as a power tool user but in the last several years I've taken up hand tools and love it. Also found that I really like putting old iron back into service.
