Stanley Defiance “hot rod” With Extra Iron

Defiance smoothing plane - same size a Stanley Bailey No 4. I have included an extra cambered iron so you can swap it between being a smoother and a scrub plane. Fully sharp, clean and tuned. Flattened the sole. I even filed flat the mating surfaces between the body and frog. The varnish on the hardwood tote and knob was mostly gone, so I redid them a deep red.

See the pictures. Hardwood tote and knob have brass barrel nuts. No repairs or breaks for the tote. The knob had a small crack which I hit with CA glue before re-finished - its solid. Paint is in very good shape. Lever cap is shiny.

Not sure when this one was made, guessing between 1940 and 1953 when Stanley stopped the Defiance plane line excluding the WWII years.
