Up for sale is a Stanley No. 8C Type 11 Jointer Plane featuring a desirable corrugated sole. This woodworking plane, produced between 1910 and 1918, is the largest in the Stanley bench plane lineup - ideal for jointing long boards and flattening large surfaces with precision.
-Type 11 produced 1910-1918 (based on Stanley type studies – frog adjustment screw, low knob, and raised “BAILEY” cast into the body) -Corrugated bottom – reduces friction, especially when planing resinous or wet woods -22" long x 2-5/8" wide iron -Iron is freshly sharpened using an 8000 grit waterstone, 25 degree bevel angle -Rosewood knob and tote (original, with no major cracks or repairs) -Rear tote is chipped at the top -Possible replacement iron & chip breaker from original -Appears to be some small stress cracks around the mouth of the plane. The cracks do not affect the performance of the plane (see Cherry shavings in photo) -Japanning loss as shown in the photos -Sole has been flattened to verify performance, sides remain untouched
