Details
Majolica plates produced by Schütz Cilli, an Austrian pottery company known for its Art Nouveau designs. The plates often feature nature-inspired motifs, such as butterflies, leaves, and flowers, and are characterized by their vibrant colors and detailed relief work. Schütz Cilli plates are highly collectible, with many pieces dating back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The company was founded in 1854 and initially focused on stoneware before transitioning to majolica. The plates are typically marked with the "SCHUTZ CILLI" impressed mark.
Conditions: One plate-Chip an excess pottery on the underside of the rim, also two spots on the body of the butterfly that are missing glaze. Not very noticeable since there is a white spot missing brown paint but glazed over, on the tip of the body. Appears to be some discoloration in this plate too. Light crazing on both, typical for age. No other condition issues noted.
