Details
This beautiful vintage Japanese Empress porcelain rose vase is a lovely near-antique addition to your collection. The vase features a delicate pink color with gold gilt accents and handles sculpted to look like rose vines. The attached rosebuds add a touch of elegance to the design, making it perfect for all occasions. Crafted in Japan in the early 20th century, this medium-sized vase stands at 9.5 inches tall and measures 4.75 inches in width weighing 11.4 ounces. The rosebuds are hand-applied, as is the gold gilt. The vase retains its original sticker on the base.
Empress porcelain was imported to the U.S. by the Sadek Company via their Tokyo office. This piece is likely from the 1930s, although it might have been from the 1950s.
The vase is in excellent used condition. The pink porcelain color is steady as the gold gilt has very little wear. There are three applied roses and six applied leaves. The leaves are all intact; of the fourteen rose petals, three have chipped tips (2 on the large rose, one on the middle small rose). However, they are no particularly noticeable unless you're looking for them. Please review all the pictures for the best sense of description. Thank you!
