This is a vintage planter, adorned with a little winged pixie! Made in Japan during the 1950s for Lefton, this water-well or wishing-well shaped planter, and the accompanying pixie (or elf, or fairy?) were given a beautiful pearlized luster glaze. The side of the planter is dotted with tiny applied flowers and porcelain spaghetti leaves. Magic and kitsch all in one piece! Condition: This planter is in Very Good condition. While there is no major damage, there are quite a few missing petals on that flowery swag, as well as a few fleabites to other petals. The little nibbles don't detract from the over-the-top cuteness though! Size: The planter measures 4¾" across, is about 3½" wide, and stands 5¼" tall. The actual planting portion is about 3½" across, 2¾" wide, and 2¾" deep. Because part of the well and the pixie are sitting across the opening, I suggest plants with smaller leaves that can grow around them. Baby's Tears would be fabulous in this one!
