This is a vintage pair of owl wall plaques! Made in the late 1970s by Miller Studios Inc., this entire chalkware owl family was vibrantly painted with bright yellow and orange. Each of these plaques have been set with small metal hooks in the bottom, so they can hold small items for you, like keys or potholders, while they decorate your wall. Fun AND functional! Condition: This set is in Excellent shape! There are no chips, cracks, or flaked paint that I could find. Perhaps there is just a speckle missing on the very edge here and there, but I really didn't see any bare spots - a rarity! Both the bottom hooks and the wire hangers are still firmly set into the plaster as well. It does look like these were perhaps finished at the factory with different batches of paint, as Papa owl is a little darker than his Missus, but they are absolutely from the same set together. It happens! Size: Both plaques are approximately the same size, measuring 5"x5", with ½" hooks set into the bottom.
