Details
Vinyl plays with occasional light-crackles (play-graded). Cover has a few creases near edges; scuffing, surface impressions (front/back). Inner-sleeve is original (generic white). Spine is mostly readable with wear. Shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)
Open Up Your Love, released in 1977 by The Whispers, marked their final album on Soul Train Records before transitioning to SOLAR Records, a pivotal shift that boosted their mainstream success. The album reached No. 23 on the Billboard Soul Albums chart, showcasing the group's signature smooth R&B and disco-infused sound. It features a notable cover of Bread's Make It With You, which became a charting hit, blending disco and soul elements effectively. Another standout single, I'm Gonna Make You My Wife, gained historical significance for its inclusion in the 1995 film Waiting to Exhale, though it was not part of the official soundtrack. The album's lush harmonies and arrangements, including tracks like Chocolate Girl and You Are No. 1, solidified The Whispers' reputation as a leading R&B act of the 1970s.
