Details
HYPE-STICKER on front. Two stickers and two 6-panel posters included. Vinyl plays with some crackles and a few light-clicks (play-graded). Gate-fold cover has a few creases near edges; light-scuffing and surface impressions (front/back/inner-gate). Inner-sleeve is original (artwork). Spine is mostly easy-to-read with some wear. Noticeable shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners. Top-edge entirely unglued. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)
Venus and Mars is the fourth album by Wings. Released as the follow-up to the enormously successful Band on the Run, Venus and Mars continued Wings' string of success and would prove a springboard for a year-long worldwide tour. It was Paul McCartney's first post-Beatles album to be released on the Parlophone label in the UK, and on Capitol in the US. Preceded by the single Listen to What the Man Said, the album appeared two weeks later to decent reviews and brisk sales. The album reached #1 in the US, UK and other countries around the world. Two additional singles, Letting Go and Venus and Mars/Rock Show, were released. Although the latter almost reached the US top 20, it did not chart in the UK. The cover was photographed by Linda McCartney.
