Details
Vinyl plays nicely; a few light hairlines (play-graded). 12" Single. Cover has a few creases near edges; light-scuffing (front/back). Inner-sleeve is generic white. Spine is mostly readable with wear. Minor shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots, heavier towards bottom-edge. (Top-left corner is cut.)
We Trying To Stay Alive (12" Single), by Wyclef Jean, is a vinyl maxi-single featuring various versions of the lead track, including remixes, instrumentals, and a cappella renditions, alongside tracks like Anything Can Happen. A standout feature is its creative sampling of the Bee Gees' disco classic Stayin' Alive, blended with elements from Audio Two's Top Billin' and, in the video version, an interpolation of Kraftwerk's Trans-Europe Express, showcasing Wyclef's innovative fusion of hip-hop with diverse genres. The single marked Wyclef Jean's entry into solo artistry following the massive success of the Fugees, highlighting his transition with contributions from Refugee Camp associates John Forté and Pras. The title track emerged as a fan-favorite for its energetic party vibe and clever lyrical boasts. As a hit single, We Trying to Stay Alive peaked at No. 45 on the Billboard Hot 100, No. 3 on the Hot Rap Songs chart, and No. 14 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
